Cookstown Event 9th to 11th February 2024.
Despite a snowy weather forecast we were warmly welcomed by our hosts Joe and Gary who safely parked us all up. On Friday evening we met in the hall for Bingo and a big thank you to Florence Little our Bingo caller and congratulations to the many winners. Thanks to D J Gary the dancefloor rocked all night to his 60s music bringing back fond memories from that decade.
Saturday was a fine day for some retail therapy in the local shops and market stalls whilst others decided to watch the Six Nations Rugby. [Come on Ireland) As the song goes Love is in the Air. It was also in Cookstown on Saturday Night as we celebrated Valentines Weekend. Tables were decorated and lights were low as members smooched the night away to the music by DJ Joe. Thanks for the props provided by Yvonne and Gary many members morphed into either Darth Vader or Mexicans for the rest of the evening. But the highlight of the night had to be the brave members who bounced around the floor on the space hoppers. No major injuries to report.
Sunday morning exhausted members gathered in the hall for a welcome cuppa provided by Jack, Florence and Ellie. In our Chairmans absence Vice Chairman Joe brought our fantastic weekend to a close and thanked all the members for their support and is looking forward to seeing everyone at our next event in Regent House Grammer School Newtownards on the 23rd to 25th February.
