Bangor St Patricks Event 14 to 16 March 2025

On Friday evening a large number of motorhomers arrived at Bangor Central Integrated Primary School for our St Patrick’s weekend event. Our hosts Lissa and William soon had them booked in and parked up. It was great to see such a large turnout. It certainly kept Lissa and William very busy for a while but they coped admirably. We gathered in the hall on Friday night where the buzz of conversation and laughter was mighty. Lissa treated us to a very enjoyable game of Last Man Standing and there were several prize-winners. Joe then provided a good selection of music to keep us entertained.

On Saturday the weather was good giving members the opportunity to head into the town for some retail therapy or a bite to eat or a pint. Saturday night we were back in the hall where we had had more chat, a great selection of music from Joe, and some dancing. Everyone was wearing something green – or nearly green – and the tables were all beautifully dressed. A very enjoyable night was had by all.

At coffee morning on Sunday David thanked everyone for attending. It was a great turnout. He also thanked our hosts Lissa and William who did a great job. He thanked Joe for providing the music twice and Jack and his team for the tea and coffee. He wished Marie McEvoy a happy birthday. He advised members that the NW200 event was a bookable event and Gary was taking bookings. Notices to this effect will appear on our Facebook page and the website in due course. He told members about two items the committee had decided, 1) a Risk Assessment document will be completed by a committee member for every event from now on and that committee member will be available to the hosts to deal with any issues that may arise during an event, 2) William and Lissa Dyer have agreed, if necessary, to help the hosts set up the hall for the entertainment. This will hopefully let hosts see that they will have as much help as they need to host an event. The next event is at Beechlawn School in Hillsborough starting on 4th April. David finished by wishing everyone a safe journey home.
