From 5pm Friday our Cookstown hosts were kept busy. Arlene and Frances were greeting and directing each and every motorhome on arrival. Parking and spacing each van was performed effectively and efficiently by Harry who was assisted by Harold until Ernie took over. A few members met up in the hall on Friday evening for Bingo while others headed into town to check out the many restaurants and pub.
On Saturday morning first aid training was conducted by Ken Purnell. This was very well attended and as a result quite a few members agreed to join the club first aiders register. The Cookstown street market was a popular draw on Saturday afternoon and many members could be seen walking amongst the stalls and the great selection of independent shops looking for clues connected to our hosts treasure hunt. It was also clear that Christmas shopping had definitely begun for several members who were spotted walking back towards the school with large shopping bags. In the evening Gary and Joe had arranged for members choice of music to be played in the hall. There was no shortage of requests for almost every genre throughout the evening and some entertaining dance lessons took place. It was clear from decorations in the hall that a notable birthday was being celebrated by Harry Campbell who volunteered to host this rally on his actual birthday.
Sunday began with the usual coffee morning. While the members enjoyed biscuits and croissants David Gilmore made the club announcements which included birthday wishes for Flo Carolan and of course our host Harry Campbell. David also welcomed new members Willie and Maureen Auld and announced the Treasurer hunt winner as Evie Perrie.
A big thanks to our Cookstown hosts Harry, Arlene, Ernie and Sue.
