We arrived at Beechlawn School, Hillsborough to glorious sunshine and there it stayed for most of the weekend. We were hosts for the weekend assisted by Leonard and Marissa.
Friday night we gathered in the hall for bingo which was called for the first time by Leonard. Thank you so much Leonard, you did a good job. We would also like to thank Marissa for her help over the week end.
Saturday was a busy day in Hillsborough with the trooping of the colour and we also had a 21gun salute for King Charles’s birthday. The park was looking lovely as usual with lots of walkers. Some of our folk also visited the bars and restaurants while a lot of us chatted and enjoyed sitting in the sun. Saturday night was full of fun and laughter. We had great music from Gary which kept the dance floor busy especially towards the latter part of the night. Some great moves going on.
Sunday morning, we had our coffee morning and I tried out my wheaten bread which seemed to go down very well. Chairman David thanked the hosts, the music providers and the tea and coffee makers for making it another great weekend. The next event is at Foyle College, from 28 to 30 June, where we will be having a BBQ,
We both really enjoyed the week end and hope to see you all at the next event.
